More support for CNG vehicles
NGC CNG Company Limited president Curtis Mohammed says trends are indicating increased private sector support for the initiative to accelerate and expand the use of compressed natural gas (CNG) as the country’s major alternative transportation fuel.
At a ceremony to officially hand over keys to two CNG and one diesel JinBei minibus to the Private School Transport Association of T&T, Mohammed said he was pleased with the response to the incentives being offered by his company. Diamond Motors, a member of the ANSA McAL Group, is the official distributor in T&T for JinBei.
Mohammed explained that NGC CNG’s incentives are tailored around public transportation.
“We have arrangements with PTSC concerning the conversion of buses and we have arrangements with maxi taxis where we would give them a grant,” he said.
However, there are no specific incentives for the general public at present.
