Family members of Jereem Richards gather at his Point Fortin home. The runner placed third today at the Men’s 200 metres race at the World Championships in London, England. “Run baby, run!” Yvette Wilson screamed yesterday as her last child, Jereem Richards, sprinted his way to the bronze medal in the men’s 200 metres final at the IAAF World Championships in London.

Medical records run-around
Three years after the death of her mother, Cherisse Lambkin is still trying to get the San Fernando General Hospital to release her mother’s medical records.
Citizen Trinbago What do they have to hide? They want time to be destroy evidence or something?
Adlene Sooklal I understand what dat person is going through...when my sister baby had died there couple years back my family went for d medical records and only to be told that there was no record on the baby. It was hard for us.
Jacqueline Benjamin Hospitals do not just give out a patient medical records. It is not the patient asking for it, that is doctor-patient confidential. What she needs to do is get a lawyer for him/her to apply to the courts under the Freedom of Information Act. That is the proper and legal way because anyone can go ask for anyone records. Remember the hospital is the custodian of those records and they have to be careful.
Tobago hotel businesses
claim $25m in loses
The cancellation of the Ocean Flower 2 contract has thrown Tobago into a state of confusion, chairman of the Tobago Chamber of Commerce Demi John Cruikshank said yesterday.
Jinelle Campbell Who confused? I not travelling by boat. People talking out cause they like to join bandwagon. If the boat was in crisis nobody suppose to get on the Express on standby, and I not talking five or six people, eh. No look, how many persons can watch me and say they affected seriously by the passenger boat? Call n see if you could get a villa for any long weekend and then tell me hoteliers losing money. Who wanna pay $800 a night for shabby service n poor-tasting food when you could stay in a guest house for $250 n get food for 60 dollars with left overs.
Harry Ramharack Crimes against foreigners in Tobago are expected to fall significantly. The cancellation of the Ocean Disaster 2 is the best move by Sinanan.
We expected his killing
Relatives of Lorenzo Mc Leod, who police shot and killed moments after he stole a car Wednesday morning, say they had been expecting his death for almost five years.
Ayanna Walker U know how much talk and talk and talk these parents may have tried and tried. Sometimes whatever the human flesh has made up their minds to do, don’t matter wat u do or say, they just want to walk that way. It’s real sad, but their are parents who really try with their kids. You see, following friends could make you end up in trouble. It’s really sad to know they live fast an die young.
Chanell Doyle-Thompson Now even though it saddens my heart that another life is lost, I respect this family. They knew what he was an he wasn’t a “good boy”. Condolences none the less.
Lynda Bonnett Wow! Very few families would admit that.....usually they all profess the criminal or thief was “a good boy.”
Oma Ramdass-Maharaj He’s a talented mechanic but he didn’t want to earn an honest dollar. Also, another thing I noted is that he has been in and out for many offences, don’t we have a system in place for repeat offenders? So the justice system keeps sending him back out to do what? Stress out our hardworking citizens? So many things wrong with this country and no one cares to fix these simple things. Govt after Govt.
Ackelia Reid The family expected his death cause he was a child never like to listen and like to follow bad company. And when children don’t hear they does feel. And parents can see ahead where they will end up.
Daughter Maharaj Well it have a saying you make a child not the mind; they have a mind of they own.
