Spend our money on existing Tobago h

I listened in awe as Minister Stuart Young, interviewed on CNC3 TV Money Watch programme, attempted to explain why this country should spend in excess of $1 billion to put up a Sandals Hotel in Tobago.

Though he avoided giving details of any possible Sandals agreement because of “confidentially issues” he kept referring to the numerous benefits derived for all of Tobago without quantifying any.

Minister Young went as far as confirming that the many special concessions that may be given to Sandals, for example, for alcohol or food, could also be accessed by other hoteliers in Tobago.

I suggest that they should utilise his time to convince his cabinet colleagues to implement some of those special Sandals concessions now, to existing Tobago hoteliers who have invested their own money but continually suffer due to lack of water, inadequate inter-island transport and poor services, to name a few issues.
