T&T Under-19s beaten by Leewards
Leeward Islands beat T&T by 86 runs on the last day of their final round match in the Regional Under-19 Championships at Verchilds in St Kitts yesterday.
The Leewards started the third and final day with an overall lead of 311 runs and advanced their position to a 342-run lead when they declared their second innings on 250 for nine.
T&T’s chase was rocky to say the least as the young Red Force team never came to terms with Zawandi White’s clever bowling. He took 4 for 41 from 12 overs to wreck the T&T batting. Valiants knocks of 70 from Christian Thurton, 48 from Leonardo Julien and 45 from Saiba Batoosingh was not enough as T&T were bowled out for 256 in conceding the match.
Elsewhere, there were wins for Guyana over Jamaica by nine wickets, while Barbados completed an eight wicket win over the Windwards earlier in the day.
