Shiva Boys make it four on the trot
Five different players were on the scoresheet as title holders, Shiva Boys Hindu College whipped Queen’s Royal College (QRC) 5-1 for a fourth straight as they continued their defence of their Shell/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League Premier Division yesterday.
Junior Assoon opened the scoring in the ninth minute for Shiva Boys while Quinn Rodney made it 2-0 to the defending champions in the 31st at the David Williams Recreation Ground, Penal. Five minutes into the second-half, Tyrell Baptiste made it 3-0 to the host while Jude Phillip (55th) and Yohannes Richardson (72nd) added to the tally before Marquis Lewis got an 83rd minute consolation for the Royalians
The win lifted Shiva Boys to maximum 12 points from four matches to remain the lone team with a 100 per cent winning record in the 16-team competition, two points more than fellow southerns, Presentation College who blanked Signal Hill 3-0 at Guaracara park, Pointe-a-Pierre led by a double from Omri Baird.
Baired netted in the 19th and 40th while Ackeel Jacob added a 54th minute item. National Inter-Col champions, San Juan North Secondary were the biggest winners on the day after they hammered Trinity Moka, 7-0 at its Bourg Mulatresse Ground, San Juan.
